History of the Blues in 50 Guitar Riffs
#bluesguitar
This video is my tribute to the evolution of Blues music in the 20th and early 21st century. I hope you will find it interesting. If you like this video, subscribe to my channel for more cool stuff. I'm reading comments from time to time, and notice that I have some spelling mistakes in the video, and also some riffs are not played exactly like the original, well shame on me, so please don't mind :) Hope you enjoy it anyway, cheers everybody.
From 1920s/30s/40s acoustic-based country/delta/folk-blues forms, over electric Chicago blues in the 1950s, blues revival during 1960s, fusion with a rock during 1960s and 1970s, developed blues/rock forms of the 80s,90s, to alternative/power blues forms in the first decade of the 21st century.
The riffs & licks were chosen based on their historical values (some of them are just my favorite ones). It is arguable that some riffs are "not" blues, but I recorded them anyway because their influence (or the influence of the guitar artist who played them) were high, and/or the blues roots are clearly visible.
On a personal note: I regret not finding the time to insert more important riffs, mostly in the early periods, and some of the pioneers of the blues/rock in the 60s, like Cream. Well, maybe next time. Oh, and sorry for the killer-serious faces in the video lol :D
This video pays a small tribute to video and audio production too since I tried to match the quality of video & audio with the release year. If you listened to original recordings online, you will probably notice they are similar in sound.
