Hey everyone, hope everybody is enjoying their weekend and this finds you well. This episode in my Sabbath shorts series features the final album by Black Sabbath ("13") and the first with Geezer on bass since "Cross Purposes" almost 20 years prior, (Jan. 1994 to be exact) and the 1st with Ozzy on vocals since the 1978 release Never Say Die!

Since this was done without Ward on drums (they couldn't reach a contractual agreement he was happy with) this was the only album to feature Brad Wilk on drums. Probably best known for his work with Audioslave, and Rage Against The Machine.

**Before I go on I want to say once again, thank you all for your interest. I very much appreciate you all for taking the time to watch, like and/or comment throughout this Sabbath shorts series...and always.**

I chose the track "Live Forever" for this short as it is one of my faves on this album. To me it is one of the most similar to traditional Sabbath in spite of the absence of cohesiveness, tightness as bandmates, passion and rawness that had existed in the early days. Or at least it doesn't come through the same way is perhaps a better way to describe it. Maybe it was just missing Bill. 🥁❤️

The album was released on June 7, 2013. I remember the talk leading up to this release and really wanting a proper Black Sabbath reunion that would obviously include Bill Ward. Alas due to the business side of these things, it never happened for a studio album while Ozzy was still alive unfortunately. It made the celebration in Birmingham on July 5, 2025 that much more special.
