40m Antenna - Phased Array or Vertical Yagi? Achieving MASSIVE gain on low bands

You can compete with the phased array boys (and girls) on-the-cheap with a couple of DX Commander poles and a bit of engineering and thought power. Gaining 5db (at low angles) over a single vertical is quite something, it's like doubling your power - then doubling it again (nearly)!

I can testify to the effectiveness of this antenna after running multiple pile-ups on SSB to USA. Possibly the most economic solution to gain on 40m you can get. But you won't be able to rotate it! LOL.
