Journal With Me .... for Self Care & Well-being!
In this video I show you how I journal each day in my "Process" notebook. It's like a mini check-in with myself that I usually do mid-afternoon to see how my day is going and what areas need attention. I've journaled this way for over 5 years. I find that the full size 8.5x11" lined, spiral notebooks work best for me. Right now I'm in a CVS Caliber notebook I picked up for about $5 at CVS. It has college ruled paper and is super fountain pen friendly.
I learned about Mind * Body * Spirit "self care" from local counselor, Tim Tate. He shared his LIFT "Life Improvement Focused Therapy" techniques with me in personal counseling and in group (Depression Support Group). I adapted my journaling technique to use with his areas of focus and I believe this has been a huge contributing factor to my avoiding another major depression! I wanted to share it here in case it might help or inspire someone else! I find that whatever types of health challenges or life projects I'm working with, this process really helps. It keeps me aware of balancing my efforts each day!
I think there is something powerful about focusing attention every day on the 3 areas (Mind, Body, Spirit) ... and 9 specific things we can do to build wellness: Communicate, Educate, Meditate, Sleep, Nutrition, Exercise, Fun, Service & Higher Power (or Gratitude).
In the video I showed a couple of fountain pens:

Lamy Safari - with Fine Nib and Noodler's Heart of Darkness

Tim was always saying "spirit" relates to what we DO -- our action -- he was using it in a non-religious context. I hope that helps clarify. As in, we help others, we have fun and we honor our spirit/values/core ... by having practices like gratitude or prayer ... whatever resonates with you!
