Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin Lyrics

This song is a beautiful all-time classic from the 60s. It was written by Hayward at nineteen years old when he was inspired by satin bedsheets a girlfriend had given him. He explained that "it was a very emotional time" as he "was at the end of one big love affair and the start of another."

The album version of 'Nights in White Satin' included a spoken word poem on the end: "Late Lament." However, I felt the image I was trying to portray was more powerful with only the song. I apologise if this upsets anyone.

The lyrics are in the video, but here also:

Nights in white satin, never reaching the end,
Letters I've written, never meaning to send.
Beauty I'd always missed with these eyes before.
Just what the truth is, I can't say anymore.

'Cos I love you, yes I love you, oh how I love you.

Gazing at people, some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going through they can't understand.
Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be, you will be in the end.

And I love you, yes I love you,
Oh how I love you, oh how I love you.

Nights in white satin, never reaching the end,
Letters I've written, never meaning to send.
Beauty I've always missed, with these eyes before.
Just what the truth is, I can't say anymore.

'Cos I love you, yes I love you,
Oh how I love you, oh how I love you.
'Cos I love you, yes I love you,
Oh how I love you, oh how I love you.
