AWS Graviton improved SAP HANA price performance by 35% with 45% less energy | Amazon Web Services

SAP HANA Cloud, SAP’s cloud-native in-memory database, is the data management foundation of SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). “Customers rely on SAP HANA Cloud to run their mission-critical business processes and next-generation intelligent data applications in the cloud,” said Juergen Mueller, CTO and member of the Executive Board of SAP SE. As customers build data-driven, intelligent applications that enable users to make more precise and faster decisions, their compute and memory demands grow. These customers require solutions that lower costs without compromising performance and energy efficiency. By choosing to run SAP HANA Cloud on AWS Graviton, SAP optimized its compute costs and allowed its customers to benefit from these efficiencies. Additionally, first tests of SAP HANA Cloud on AWS Graviton4-based Amazon EC2 R8g instances resulted in quite an improvement in the overall performance.
