The Zamboanga Siege (Walking Around Ground Zero)

Walking around "Ground Zero" where the Zamboanga Siege began...

I met people who were Tausug. I met people who were Badjao. I met people who were Muslim. I met people who were Christian. I met all sorts of walks of life during my short stay at Rio Hondo and Mariki. Once again it was so eye opening to just how diverse Zamboanga Peninsula is. But walking around here, I also learned a lot...

Did you know that during the Zamboanga Siege more than 10,000 families were displaced and an entire community was destroyed? That community "Mariki" has been redeveloped now.

This is VERY RAW and I didn't think I would post it on youtube, but I just felt maybe it would be nice for some people to see how Zamboanga has recovered since the Siege in 2013.

Here is my raw video...

Turns out I even experienced a unique chew that is traditionally Tausug!

Have a great day.
