Winter Storm Elliot - Big Power Outage - Emergency Power Setup and Champion Inverter Generator!!

I like to be prepared. I often joke around about losing power but in all seriousness I do take events like today’s storm seriously! It is no joke losing power especially living in the country which often means no water, no heat, no sumo pump, and other essential items. Our portable inverter generator is running our house quite well.

We have lights, heat, water, internet and pretty much all the amenities. Just the big appliances we won’t use like the electric range, clothes dryer, and charging the LEAF. Using a generator is probably the most cost effective solutions for short term power losses. Definitely look at an inverter generator (pure sine wave) for clean power verses a standard generator.
I modified our inverter generator so we can run off our underground propane tank for a very long time! No need to make trips to gas station for fuel. Gasoline and gas bottles are can also be used. This setup could also be used on natural gas.
