Ep 023 - A guide to help children process stress, anxiety, trauma with author Nicolle Natttrass, CAC

Today, we welcome Nicolle Nattrass straight from Canada - the author of Just the Two of Us: A Safe Place for Tender Hearts to Land. Parents, teachers, counselors, and social workers are often at a loss about how to help young children who can’t adequately describe how they feel after experiencing anxiety, stress, or trauma. That does not diminish the need for children to be able to express themselves in a safe, non-threatening environment and feel connected to someone who cares.

Nicolle Nattrass, an Addiction Counselor and world-renowned Journaling expert, shares how to connect with children in a way that allows for creativity and healing in "Just the Two of Us." She came to what she calls tender-hearted work following a personal trauma experienced by her child. Although her son did not suffer serious physical injuries from a car accident, the emotional and mental impact was significantly life-changing. Nicolle worked diligently, through the use of a journal, to help her son explore his feelings, thoughts, and ideas—in a safe, creative, and fun manner that she details in this gentle guide.

"Just the Two of Us" is a tender-hearted guide on how to use Creative Journaling as a key recovery tool to help children (age 4 and up) to connect and process stress, anxiety, trauma."
