Hey guys,
Today I wanted to post a performance review of my new Milwaukee M18 FUEL hammer drill tool number 2804-20 (2804-22 if you buy it in the kit). This drill is an absolute monster and I can't say enough good things about it.
To start the power is unreal. If you set this drill on full drive with no clutch it will yank itself out of your hands if you are not careful. This drill has some serious power and is the most powerful cordless drill I've ever used.
I also really like the clutch system and find it to be very accurate for my needs. The lowest setting it perfect for putting in screws in soft wood as you see in the video. It also has torque ramp up on lower clutch settings making it easier to drive screws. The highest setting is great for drilling metal as it gives you plenty of power, but if the drill bit grabs the clutch will kick in and save you from getting hurt (also seen in the video). Overall very pleased with the clutch.
The hammer drill works great as well and I did see a difference in performance when drilling concrete. It is very noisy on the hammer setting, but that is to be expected. Keep in mind the concrete I am drill has rocks in it, thus making it pretty tough on both the bit and the drill. If you're drilling something like a cinder block it will go through like butter.
Battery life if also really good. I did about 2 hours of hard testing to film this video and I only used 2 bars on my 5 AH battery. Very impressive.
Overall super happy with the performance of this drill and now that I own it I can't imagine not having it.
