The structure of any speech and text determines its effect. Conventionally we speak in boring boxes, dangerous associations, or professionally in information pyramids. The “Reversed Pyramid” Principle turns the conventional structure upside down. This creates a kind of funnel with personal accessibility and argumentative altitude at the top, a body of substance in the center, and a punch point at the end. A revelation. Dr. Stefan Wachtel is the author of “Reversed Pyramid. The Funnel Principle in Speech Answer and Text.” (2021), and one of the “Leading Coaches of the World®”. He is a German executive coach for top European managers, including board members of 15 of the DAX30 companies. For six years, Stefan worked as a moderators coach with the German television ARD/ZDF, and spent three years training with Lufthansa’s pilots making announcements more effective.

Stefan Wachtel is the host of the annual Funnel Conference in Cannes, France.
