Radiant Floor Heat Pump Design and Install (Tiny Whoop at end)

This videos shows how I made a radiant floor heat pump for winter operation and combined it with a air handler for summer cooling operation. Winter runs similar to a swimming pool heat pump. Summer runs like a standard duct work a/c system.

Radiant floor heat in a cement slab has the advantage of being able to store heat energy for up to 3 days in the event of a power loss. Also, it is ideal for garages, because the room becomes warm immediately after the door is closed and won't loose heat when the door is open. The advantage of heat pump is significant energy savings over fuel oil or propane when natural gas isn't available.

One thing to note is that the water loop is open to the atmosphere. It is important that no steel or iron be in the system because the oxygen in the water can cause more rust. If steel is used anywhere, go to a pressurized loop with an expansion tank to keep the oxygen out.

Pre-made heat pump boilers are available if you don't want to build it yourself. http://www.electromn.com/pdf/BL901.pdf

The Tiny Whoop at the end is a hobby of mine. If you are interested in micro drones, you definitely want to get a 10x magnifying headset first because working on that stuff is small.
