Dear textile friends, welcome to my youtube channel! My name is Katerina Korshun, I am a fashion designer living in Prague. Today we will talk about cellulose fibers in wet felting.
Cellulose fibers (viscose/rayon, bamboo, Tencel) are rapidly gaining popularity among felt makers. They are man-made, meaning that the substances used to make them are gained from plants (core of the eucalyptus tree, bamboo or agricultural waste). They are not considered to be synthetic and are often called “reconstructed cellulose fibers”. Production and dyeing techniques vary in different countries so different viscose brands vary in micron and luster.
