I love this hymn! It was written to be performed at the dedication of the Kirtland Temple in 1836. The Kirtland Temple was the first temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints--now there are 159 Temples around the world. And The Spirit of God has been sung at most if not all of the dedications of these temples. It is a truly glorious hymn and I love this arrangement that sweetly evokes the warmth and the light of the Holy Spirit. Being able to record and video this beautiful hymn with my children, "Family Four" was such a joy. I am grateful for our talents and the opportunities we have to praise God together through music.

This music comes from my upcoming album, The Spirit of God: Classic Hymns and Spirituals which is a musical tribute to the great faith that founded America. I have long been inspired by the devotion of my Pioneer Ancestors and it was a joy to record music that hearkens back to these spiritual and musical roots.
