How to Use SUM and SUMIF Functions in Microsoft Excel.

In this video, I will explain the SUM and SUMIF functions in Microsoft Excel.

What is the SUM function in Microsoft Excel?
The SUM function adds values. You can add individual values, cell references, ranges, or a mix of all three.
Syntax:
=SUM(number1, [number2], [number3]……)
The SUM function uses the following arguments:
Number1 (required argument) – This is the first item that we wish to sum.
Number2 (required argument) – The second item that we wish to sum.
Number3 (optional argument) – This is the third item that we wish to sum.
The function sums values supplied as arguments (up to 255 arguments). Arguments can be supplied as numbers, cell references, ranges, arrays, constants, and the results of other formulas or functions.

What is the SUMIF function in Microsoft Excel?
The SUMIF function in Microsoft Excel adds up cells in a range that meets certain criteria.
Syntax:
=SUMIF(range, criteria, [sum_range])
Range (Required): The range of cells that you want to evaluate by criteria.
Criteria (Required): The criteria in the form of a number, expression, a cell reference, text, or a function that defines which cells will be added.
Sum_range (Optional): The actual cells to add, if you want to add cells other than those specified in the range argument.
