An Archival and Preservation Storage Solution for the Zimmerman Library

Over the last century, the Zimmerman Library at the University of New Mexico has grown and collections have expanded into different areas of the building. As collections expanded, they were stored wherever available space could be found. This led to collections, some of which contained rare books and government records, being stored in five different areas with no available space left. The Improve Group, an authorized Spacesaver distributor, worked with the Zimmerman Library and determined the best solution for the library's much needed archival and preservation storage needs. With the use of high-density mobile shelving, Spacesaver was able to consolidate the library's collections into one main area, while providing an optimal environment for preservation and easy access for library staff.
