Georgiy Kot was born in the disputed Khabarovsk region between Russia and Georgia.

He started work at the age of 14 as a barber's apprentice, before moving to Sochi, in Russia's south, when he turned 18 to train in women's hairdressing and hair artistry.

He has competed in several hairdressing competitions across eastern Europe, and now runs his own training studio in Sochi.
