Optimizing Public Health Interventions for Health Justice:

Dr. Julianna Nemeth

How can we ensure evidence-based public health protections are accessible to, and equitably benefit, Ohio’s most marginalized yet deserving populations? In this presentation, Dr. Nemeth will discuss findings and lessons learned from her research to optimize a smoking cessation intervention for homeless youth and to create and evaluate the C.A.R.E. model, designed to increase domestic violence advocacy organizations’ capacity to better meet the complex and often interconnected health concerns of domestic violence survivors—including brain injury, mental health, trauma, and substance use. She will also share insights learned from her work to support the Ohio Department of Health, Office of Health Equity’s response to COVID-19 across Ohio’s diverse populations.
