Stimulus Check Update | NEW 2000/Mo Stimulus PASSED?

You may have heard a lot about different stimulus proposals but the one we are talking about today is completely different! It’s a new bill that is more than just a proposal… It has been brought to the Senate!

The Monthly Economic Crisis Support Act is being proposed by Senators Kamala Harris (a Democrat from California), Bernie Sanders (an Independent from Vermont) and Ed Markey (a Democrat from Massachusetts)

Here are the details:

⁃It would be $2,000 / month per person
⁃This would start RETROactively, going back to March.
⁃These payments would be MONTHLY and would continue for up to 3 months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares there is no longer a “Health Emergency”
⁃The income limits are still based on your Adjusted Gross Income but are more lenient than the CARES act:

•Must have AGI of less than $100,000 if filing Single

•Must have AGI of less than$150,000 if filing Head Of Household

•Must have AGI of less than $200,000 if Married Filing Jointly

•There is a 10% phase out… For every $1,000 above your limit, you receive $100 less.

⁃This would apply to no more than 3 dependents
⁃This would apply to non-resident aliens
⁃There would be restrictions in place that do not allow this check to be seized by debt collectors

Obviously there is a lot of support for some form of additional assistance to the American people and this very well could be something that actually gets passed.
