Sketchup for Schools and my.SketchUp is an amazing tool for designing that is cloud-based. The Play ship tutorial is a great lesson for middle school students as they hone their skills in SketchUp.

I have also created a 2 part version that is based on the millimeter template. It has some slick updates and is cut into two parts which I prefer in a classroom environment.
