Thanksgiving aboard USS Carl Vinson in the Arabian Gulf
ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 27, 2014) Sailors and Marines aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal while underway in the Arabian Gulf. The ship's leadership took time to serve their Sailors and Marines more than 2.5 tons of turkey on the mess decks during Thanksgiving dinner. Carl Vinson is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations, and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
