Gorgeous foal named after inspirational WWII veteran Captain Tom Moore

A young foal was recently born at our Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre, in Norfolk, after his mother Winona came into our care in December 2019 as part of a large group of horses. Though she already had a foal at foot when she arrived, Winona was pregnant again and her new foal, a healthy colt, was born on 20th April.

The team decided to ask supporters what they thought the foal should be called and the overwhelming favourite proved to be Captain Tom, after the inspirational WWII veteran Captain Tom Moore. With rescue ponies needing to be resilient, stoic, positive and determined, the name seemed a great fit - we hope Captain Tom the foal lives up to his incredible namesake!
