WILD CAMPING: All Alone In Gauja National Park!

First time wild camping in Latvia's Gauja National Park in a beautiful spot in nature, with nobody else in sight. It is an unforgettable adventure to just pitch your tent somewhere and wake up to nothing but peace, quiet, beautiful nature and far too many mosquitoes. Wild camping in Latvia is something we highly recommend!

Gauja National Park is Latvia's oldest national park and you can hike there for days on end. To get there you can take the train for one hour from Riga to Sigulda, which serves as one of the entry points to the park. You can do hiking routes from half a day or a full day to multi-day hikes from one end to the other side of the park. You can even do an epic trip of multiple weeks crossing Latvia from one side to the other through multiple national parks.

After our hiking adventure in Gauja National Park, we hitchhiked out of Latvia to arrive to our last 'European' stop on our 12.000 km overland journey from Brussels to Beijing: Estonia.
