Why was April Fool’s Day introduced? | #DeafTalks #islnews

Hi, welcome to Deaf Talks.
Yesterday was April 1st. People make some jokes and pranks.
Why is April Fool’s Day celebrated ? Did you know why? Let me explain.
Long ago, in France, people celebrated the New Year at the end of March and on April 1.
But later, a new calendar system was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII.
After this many countries changed their calendar.
Therefore, in France King Charles IX changed the New Year celebration to January 1.
Many people accepted the new date.
But some people did not know about the change.
Also some refused to follow the new date.
So they continued celebrating New Year on April 1.
What happened next?
People who celebrate the new year in January started making fun of the April celebration.
They called them April fools.
Slowly, this practice became a tradition.
They also sent fake invitations for new year celebrations and fool their friends.
From France, the idea slowly spread to Europe and later to many other countries.
Today, April Fool’s Day is celebrated all over the world.
It's just a story, there is no single official document that proves exactly how April Fool’s Day started.
