Captured Sturmtiger in Hinterhalt ambush camouflage (1/35 RFM scale model)

Full build and review of the 1/35 scale Rye Field Models Sturmtiger kit. This is the partial interior kit, featuring detail within the fighting compartment, including shells and shell storage areas, but no engine or transmission. A full interior version of this kit is also available.

The Sturmtiger, also know as the Sturmmörserwagen, was a German assault gun built on the Tiger I chassis. It fired a 380mm rocket-propelled mortar, was operated by a crew of 5, and had a crane on the rear deck for loading shells. Only 18 were built and they saw action in the Warsaw Uprising, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle of the Reichswald (Operation Veritable).

This model kit is painted using the standard German interior colours of Cremeweiss and primer red, with the Hinterhalt or Ambush camouflage scheme being used on the exterior. This particlar variant is painted using the MAN / MNH version of the scheme.
