Lessons Learned in Medical School: An Interview with Sujay Kansagra
The sleepless nights. The seemingly never-ending lectures. The stiff competition. The courage -- and confidence -- to speak up. The fear. The pain. The joy.
Ah, medical school.
Sujay Kansagra, now a pediatrician in Chapel Hill, NC, lived through all of it -- and he wrote a book in the process.
Kansagra, who graduated from Duke Medical School, wrote Everything I Learned In Medical School -- Besides All The Book Stuff and self-published it last January. Now, a year later, Kansagra takes a few minutes in an interview with the IHI Open School to reflect on what he learned in the process. He discusses using his book as a teaching tool for students, watching a senior physician make a mistake, and learning from Twitter and social media.
