What is Minor Role reduction? How to calculate the federal sentencing guidelines in drug offenses?
In this video, I will explain how to calculate the federal sentencing guidelines under two scenarios: with minor role reduction and without.
Mitigating Role (Minor Role) can be found in §3B1.2 of the federal sentencing guidelines. https://guidelines.ussc.gov/gl/%C2%A73B1.2
Offenses involving drugs and narco-terrorism are found in Part D of the federal guidelines. Unlawful manufacturing, importing, exporting, trafficking, or possession; attempt and conspiracy are found in §2D1.1. https://guidelines.ussc.gov/gl/%C2%A72D1.1
Even if you plead guilty or lose at trial, the sentencing hearing becomes critical to your success in federal court. Your attorney needs to be well-prepared to argue for the lowest guidelines possible and other mitigating factors.
