How to Distress Wood

Detailed instructions on how to give new pine 1x6 the weathered, rustic, distressed or barnwood look. There's a number of descriptions now for this technique on pinterest and google, but you get what I mean!!. I explain how to simply use a brass wheel grinder attachment on a regular corded drill to both strip and wear the wood out to give it a depth and natural character. I go over how to properly stain the wood. I explain how the timing of letting the stain sit on the wood before wiping will give it a variety of darker looks, so do a few practice runs on scrap. This stock pine wood in particular was used to trim out my kitchen bay window after it was mitered nailed and clamped. I have another YouTube video on how to trim this kitchen bay window out as well.
