All That in Esperanto (Ke, Tio, Tiu)

Alex Vaughn Miller explains the differences between three Esperanto words that are often translated to the word "that" in English. Two of them are from the correlative table (tio and tiu) and the other typically introduces dependent clauses (ke).

The important take-away from this lesson is that it's better to usually think of "ke" as meaning "the fact that..." and "tiu" as meaning "that specific..." so that you don't use them by accident when you really mean to say "tio."
