Ram Pump 3/4 Inch to 1/2 Inch

The 1/2 inch Ram Pump worked but did not push water as far as I needed. On this video, I changed the input side to 3/4 inch and left the output side at 1/2 inch. I started with 40 feet of 3/4 inch pvc supply pipe and was getting 25 cycles per minute and no water at 325 feet on the output side. I changed out the supply pipe to 40 feet of 1 inch pvc but could only get up to 33 cycles per minute. Thinking I needed more cycles per minute, I did not check to see if I was getting any output up the hill. The HILL was the reason I didn't really go check. I then connected the 40 feet of 1 inch pvc to the 3/4 inch pvc and ran my pump 40 more feet down the creek. This time I only managed 20 cycles per minute, my worst yet. BUT, when I checked the output at 315 feet uphill, I was getting 5 gallons per hour output. At this point I am clueless as to the reason this is working with so few cycles but it is still pumping away a week later. I'm glad about that but if anyone can explain what is going on and why this is working when the faster cycles did not, I would love to know the reason. Please comment if you can help with the explanation so we can all learn something from this experience. Thanks,
