A passenger on low-cost carrier Ryanair has been awarded damages after falling down airstairs in 2020. A Spanish court ruled in favor of the passenger who was using the handrail while disembarking from the aircraft in Alicante. The Commercial Court of Seville ruled the airline must compensate the passenger to the tune of €30,793 (approximately $33,100) to cover medical and associated expenses.
