Montessori The Farm Lesson - introduction to grammar

Maria Montessori dedicated her life to observe what sparks the interest of the child and their capacities. She design lessons that are attractive, easy to grasp and that are aligned with her observations

The Farm lesson is introduced in the Children’s House classroom (3-6 age) in our Montessori school located in Davie, Florida.

The guide determines when the child is ready for this lesson, but most of the students that are introduced to this early grammar lesson are reading and have started to write.

In the lesson the guide asks por an animal from the farm, and the child bring the animal without any specifications, then the guide asks for the specific animal she wants (adjective) and then they work together.

This lesson involves movement, reading, play, and an introduction to concepts that the students will be learning in a deeper lever in our Montessori Elementary years.
