Amazing 😍 A Grasshopper laying eggs😱

While roaming in my surrounding,my puppy Bruno found out a grasshopper.He tried to catch it and the Grasshopper was still.This made me wonder.I took a close look and yeah i was so lucky to find that the mother grasshopper was actually laying eggs😍. Grasshopper is so common in our day to day life but rarely we get a chance to see such an amazing phase🤩.I tried my level best to capture the whole process and this video is the outcome of it.Check this out you will surely be amazed😱.

There are many species of grasshoppers and this one is the migratory locust.The migratory locust (Locusta migratoria) is the most widespread locust species, and the only species in the genus Locusta.

The migratory locust lives for about 2 months.
The adult female migratory locust deposits a number of egg pods in the ground over the course of a few weeks. The sites selected include soft soils such as volcanic ash, alluvial soils and sand. Each pod contains between fifteen and a hundred eggs and most females lay from two to seven pods during the breeding season. The eggs hatch 10 to 24 days later and the nymphs develop through 5 or 6 instars, taking between 26 and 61 days to fully develop. Females do not lay eggs when the temperature is below 21 °C (70 °F), and above this temperature, development times reduces as the temperature rises until 32 °C (90 °F) is reached, after which no further reduction takes place.

In this case the locust took a total of 35 to 40 minutes in the whole process.After laying the egg sacs slowly she then tried to cover it with soil n flew away.The locust is still residing on the surrounding plants to keep a watch on its eggs.
