Soap Challenge Club - Kiss Pour - CP Soap Making
This month’s Soap Club Challenge - Take 2
I won the 'Best Soap Newbie' in the Experienced Category with this, so happy about this!
This month's challenge was all about getting trace right to make sure that the actual technique - the Kiss Pour - ended up the way it should: with very fine feathery lines.
This attempt was my second one and whilst my first attempt looks amazing, it lacks the detail in form of the thin feathery lines as my trace was slightly too thick.
I used two sets of colours - one set in warm colours: yellow and orange, and one set in cold colours: purple and white.
For the yellow and orange I used non-bleed neon yellow/orange from Soak Rochford (www.soakrochford.co.uk) and for the purple I used Planet Purple mica, also from Soak Rochford. All three colours were really easy to mix in and resulted in no/very few colour spots. For the white I would probably not use Titanium Dioxide next time but white mica instead as with such a small quantity I think I'd find it easier to mix in (I do mix in a little bit of oil first).
For fragrance I have used Lavender Essential Oils which was a safe option in terms of keeping acceleration at a minimum and I felt it would work nicely with the lavender colour purple and sun (orange/yellow) colours.
I made my slab mould a little smaller to avoid ending up with too much soap that I have no assessment for and can therefore only use for myself. There is only that much soap someone can get through!
