UNBOXING the C1 Chaser Flying Wing [ Full Version ]

Howdy in this special episode you're see the unboxing of the C1 CHASER I bought here https://goo.gl/SNRvgg. This is the FIRST arrival in the UK of the C1 Chaser model and FULL details & suggested setup are below. Press SHOW MORE to see them. Matt

IMPORTANT NOTE
==
I bought this model out of my OWN money, this was NOT a freebie for "Review". I AM personally curious about this model as if it's half the model which the WingWing Z-84 is or the Phantom FX-61, it's going to be a BELTA!

Firstly thank YOU for watching this episode. It's my intention to make this model into a mid to long range FPV model, but it will be great as a line of sight model too.

I'm excited about it because it's larger than the WingWing Z-84 which is an amazing model (see here https://goo.gl/sybv5N) and nowhere near as large as a Phantom FX-61 (see here https://goo.gl/e6SGdb). Think of it as a "happy medium" between the two. It is transportable and has a decent payload capacity.

To help you I have put an outline of the setup I'm going to be using below. Be aware after her maiden flight things might change, so make sure you subscribe to be notified the second when furture updates come out!

C1 Chaser 1200mm Wingspan EPO Flying Wing FPV Aircraft RC Airplane KIT

Bought here: https://goo.gl/SNRvgg

THINGS I LIKE
----------------
These are the things I like after seeing her in the "flesh"

1. It's a flying wing ;-)
2. HUGE payload capacity. You could fit a whopping 5200mAh 4S multistar battery in it AND still have room for a flight control setup
3. Transportable. It's a 1.2M or 47" wingspan, it will fit in most cars (unlike the huge FX-61)
4. It should be simple to build (only 5 larger places to apply glue, 2 wings, 2 winglets and a nose)
5. Minimal electronics needed (eg just 2 servos instead of 4 in a normal model)
6. Came with lots of stickers
7. The top hatch catches are well thought out, so are the finger clips
8. Comes with two nose cones
9. Can swing a 8" propeller
10. Looking at the size of the motor mount, you'd easily fit a massive 3536 motor in it!

THINGS I DON'T LIKE
----------------
And the things I don't like:

1. Crappy control horns (better ones here https://goo.gl/J0pcip or here https://goo.gl/zO0ulf)
2. It's raining tomorrow so I can't maiden her then :(

LINE OF SIGHT
----------------
I would personally put in a D2826 2200Kv motor into this model, the reason for this choice for the C1 Chaser is simple, with this motor and a 6x4 propeller, you'll be able to run her on both 3S for fast & fun action, but put it on 4S (with a larger ESC of course!) then it would be bonkers!

Note: A lower Kv motor would also work well with a larger propeller (max size prop is 8") for example a D2822 1400Kv here https://goo.gl/nOc7rl

Motor: D2826 2200Kv
Propeller: 6x4
ESC (for 3S): 30A Rated
ESC (for 4S): 70A or greater
Servos (only 2 req): TowerPro MG90S
Battery: 1300mAh to 2200mAh 3S

SHORT RANGE FPV
==
Same setup as above, battery choice is your own!

Frankly speaking one of the cheap AIO (all in one) setups would work great on a model like this & it would mean you could use the camera & transmitter on other models.

I personally found the Eachine MC02 AIO FPV camera effective, you can see the review here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLc9sQTh_Yo and I bought it here https://goo.gl/5UGYe3

You could of course mount a separate video tx on the wing such as a 25mW (UK legal) https://goo.gl/DjPQPJ, a 200mW https://goo.gl/H6czF2 or even a 600mW one https://goo.gl/82XG6N if desired.

For the FPV camera, a cheap Sony CCD camera is here https://goo.gl/cTeBdX or if you want quality, the RunCam Swift is amazing for the money (I have 2!) https://goo.gl/Tbn1xe

Most of the time it feels like a gamble on whether the product does what I needed it to do, hence I'm sharing my personal thoughts on the products I've bought recently or are about to buy.

I bought or are about to buy the product(s) featured in this episode out of my OWN money for my OWN uses. I fly a lot and get through a lot of kit (think "unscheduled landings").
