What Thai people think of Dowry (paying money to bride's family) - คุณคิดยังไงกับสินสอด? - Interview

Dowry (สินสอด, sin-sod) is the tradition of giving money to the bride's family on the day of the wedding or at the engagement ceremony (yes, some people do have engagement ceremony).

While this tradition is very old in Thailand, it can be an obstacle if you want to marry someone in Thailand, especially young people who are in the early stage of their career.
