UK conservatives make gains as voters 'abandon Labour'
Spiked Online Editor Brendan O'Neill says many working-class voters, particularly in England, in the recent local elections have "switched" to the Conservative Party and have "abandoned Labour".
"They feel that Labour no longer represents them," Mr O'Neill told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
"And I think this really speaks to a crisis of social democratic parties across the western world, which are increasingly losing touch with their working-class base".
