Welcome to the pinkest corner of Toronto! 🌸 Since today is May 1, 2026, we are officially hitting the start of Peak Bloom here in High Park.

Whether you’re a local avoiding the crowds or tuning in from across the world, this livestream is your front-row seat to one of Canada’s most beautiful spring traditions.

🌸 About Today’s Stream
As of this morning, at least 70% of the Sakura blossoms are open! The cool weather over the past week has preserved the buds, making this one of the most vibrant displays we’ve seen in years. We are currently broadcasting live from the main grove near Grenadier Pond, where the "Somei-Yoshino" trees are in their full, fluffy glory.

📍 Visiting High Park (Important)
If you’re planning to head down this weekend:

No Cars: High Park is closed to vehicle traffic during the bloom. Please take the TTC to High Park or Keele Station.

Peak Duration: We expect the peak to last between 4 to 10 days, depending on the wind and rain.

🏮 History of the Trees
These trees were a gift from the citizens of Tokyo to the people of Toronto in 1959 as a thank you for welcoming Japanese-Canadian refugees after WWII. They symbolize renewal, friendship, and the fleeting beauty of life.
