Treamcast - Portable Built-In Screen Dreamcast Review

In this video I do a review on the portable Dreamcast system with a built-in 5" screen that was discontinued over a decade ago, known as the Treamcast. In order to get one of these systems originally, you had to mail your normal Dreamcast console to the third-party company in Hong Kong, who would disassemble it and turn it into a portable system with some extra accessories included, all for around $150. Today, you will only find these super rare systems on online auction sites and an occasional comic store that sells old gaming nostalgia. I got this particular system for $120 on eBay. At the time I did this video the power adapter was having issues, so the footage you see of the console turned on is from a user who we will link below. Treamcast Info:
The Treamcast is an unauthorized third-party developed Dreamcast modification from China or Hong Kong that gained notability for its portability. Although there are several versions, all consist of modified internals from an original Dreamcast system, rehoused in a replacement case with a fold-down display resembling the screen produced for the PSone. As it uses original Sega parts, it is not strictly a clone console. Because of its modified firmware, the Treamcast can play all international games. It is also able to read CD-Rs and play MP3s and Video CDs with special software. Also, despite its origins in Asia, the Treamcast houses an American power supply. It comes with unique controllers (which resemble six button Sega Genesis controllers, lacking an analogue stick) but is also compatible with original Dreamcast controllers and other 3rd party controllers. Sega accused the company of copyright violations and was able to halt sale through various websites.
