IMA Defends Doctor Arrested Over Chhindwara Cough Syrup Tragedy | News9

The Indian Medical Association has defended Dr. Praveen Soni, arrested in connection with the Chhindwara cough syrup tragedy that claimed 14 children’s lives. The IMA says monitoring and approval of the syrup fall under the Drugs Regulatory System and criticises the central and state authorities for failing to prevent contamination. The body warns that indiscriminate action against a bonafide doctor sends a wrong message and demands action against the actual culprits along with compensation for affected families.
