Mondeo TDCI fuel pump regulator replacement.

This is we hope, a helpful guide to repairing a TDCI fuel pump regulator.
When we set about repairing this Mondeo we couldn't find any really helpful video's on You Tube so we decided to do our own.

The car was displaying the usual Mondeo flashing glow plug light.
When started from cold the car ran perfectly but after about 5mins it'd cut out & refuse to restart. There is no need to change the whole fuel pump as the fuel pump regulator (bought on E bay) is often all that's required, its relatively cheap & better still the new part does NOT need to be recoded, its simply change it, start up & off you go.
We knew we'd still have some trouble with this car (see also our cam sensor replacement tutorial), but changing this valve made a big difference.

Many other car makers use the same regulator valve, but it seems that because there are so many more Mondeo's on the roads that more appear to have faults. We are not qualified mechanics & yet still found this job really easy to do. Next we're doing the camshaft sensor.
