Valerie Ann Barnes, has served in the Navy for 20 years, and is currently the Assistant Project Engineering and Planning Manager for the Submarine Pre-planning Group, and Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu is currently the Cultural Director at Halau Lokahi, a public charter school dedicated to using Native Hawaiian culture, history, and education as tools for developing and empowering the next generation of warrior scholars. Valerie and Hinaleimoana appear on Sister Power to discuss transgender in hawaiian and veteran communities.
