Federal task force drops recommended age to start mammograms by a decade | In The Moment

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force officially changed their breast cancer screening recommendations. They now say women should start mammograms at age 40 instead of 50.

The task force also made an urgent call for more potentially life-saving research.

Laurie Kruse is an RN program manager at the Edith Sanford Breast Center. She discusses the changes in the guidelines and why patients should have an initial conversation with their physician about breast cancer even earlier.
