Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar said he will look in to the Tamil Nadu Assembly's resolution on the Mekedatu dam issue. TN CM Vijay moved a resolution opposing Karnataka's proposed Mekedatu dam project across the Cauvery River. The resolution was unanimously adopted on the floor on June 19.

The resolution urged the Union government not to grant any technical or environmental clearances for the project and called upon the Central Water Commission not to process or approve Karnataka's Detailed Project Report.
