St. Luke’s earns prestigious Magnet Nursing Excellence Designation for a fourth time

UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa received a video call from Sharon Pappas, RN, PhD, NEA-BC, who is the Chair of the Commission for the Magnet Redesignation Program with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She called to let us know that our team received its fourth Magnet designation.

She shared that our team and St. Luke’s was a “role model” for patient care and nursing. Only about 2% of hospitals have received Magnet designation four times and less than 10% of registered hospitals have earned Magnet status.

This gold standard recognition signifies continued and exemplary national nursing excellence which is the gold standard for nursing and patient excellence.

At St. Luke’s, we encourage all team members, at all levels of the organization, to influence decisions that affect their practice. We are better together – one team focused on continually improving, giving our very best to our patients and our community.

We invite you to learn more about our nationally recognized hospital and find a career you’ll love at unitypoint.org.
