We're in Istanbul, Turkey! This is one of our favourite cities and we've spent 2 months eating our way around Istanbul to create this series. This 4 part series is about showing you local Turkish foods and hunting down the more unusual but tasty Istanbul street food that you might not have seen before. This is our second Istanbul food video. We start with döner kebab, the king of Istanbul street food. Next up we head into the laneways of the old town and eat köfte (meatballs)- this place has been around since 1960 and the atmosphere is half the pleasure as you're surrounded by the buzz of the city as you eat on the street. Onwards to one of the city's quirkiest phenomena- a gazoz shop. Gazoz are Turkish soft drinks. There has been a revival of these nostalgic drinks which date back to the early 1900s when most towns and cities had their own local gazoz. We sample a few flavoured gazoz before heading for another sweet treat called bici bici. Bici bici is from the southern city of Adana where it's a popular street food in the summertime. Finally we head for one of our favourite Turkish street foods- kelle söğüş or cold boiled sheep's head. Muammer Usta has been serving this dish for over 40 years from his small street card. Sliced sheep's head, onions, parsley and chilli makes for a delicious snack. A must eat!

5. Kelle Söğüş at Beyoğlu Kelle Söğüş Kamer Hatun, Hüseyinağa Mah Kamerhatun Cad, Balık Sk. No 2, 34435 Beyoğlu/İstanbul. Open Monday to Thursday and Sunday 10:00am to 8:00pm, Friday 10:45am to 8:15pm and Saturday 10:00am to 8:15pm.
