Draw what you see NOT what you THINK you see [WHY CHARCOAL]

In this video, I really want to talk about why charcoal is such a good medium for drawing portraits and especially good for practicing good shading techniques of the face! It is truly akin to sculpting, as you have to mold so much with your fingers and carve out features and details with an eraser, much like carving with a sculpting tool! The end result and main objective? To learn to draw what you see and NOT what you THINK you see. It's a true mindset shift! Once you train your brain to think in this way, your observational skills and hence drawing skills, will vastly improve!!
