Today we are looking at The Monroe condominium in Virginia Square. The Monroe is located at 3625 10th St, 1 block away from the Virginia Square Metro.

The Monroe at Virginia Square was built in 2006 and has 79 units on 9 stories. Amenities at The Monroe include a concierge, a library, media room, a courtyard, a fitness center, and a rooftop terrace.

Pretty much all the units at The Monroe are 2 bedrooms or larger. The condos here are very nice. Hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, large windows are all standard and many units have balconies as well.

Ok let’s take a look at the top three things you need to know about living at The Monroe.

Latitude Apartments. This is the new project right across the street from The Monroe. It was started in June of 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in 24 months putting that at a completion date of Summer 2016. What you need to know is that Latitude will have 256 residences but more importantly stand 12 stories tall. The Monroe is only 9 stories so you do the math with what is going to happen to the views of some Monroe residents. This project was controversial because it changed the framework of the Virginia Square Sector plan by changing the makeup of the building from commercial to residential. We’re getting really in-depth here so to read more, i’ve put some links in the description below.
1 1 bedroom. If you’re looking at The Monroe waiting for a one bedroom. Don’t hold your breathe. There’s only one 1-BR. Literally just one. So you’re probably not going to get it. But there are other 1 bedroom options that are very similar like at The Hawthorn, The Continental, and The Hartford. All links you can find in the description below.
Underrated Rooftop - If this were March Madness, The Monroe rooftop would be my sleeper pick for one of the better rooftops in the area. Unobstructed views, plenty of space, and a grilling area. For a smaller building like the Monroe, this is a huge benefit. There you have it the top three things you need to know about living at The Monroe Arlington VA.
