MOVING ROCK WITH GULF TRANSPORT

Another blast from the past. By the end of the 1990s, the group of companies under Jim Cooper's Darwin-based Gulf Transport flag made up the undisputed largest road train fleet in the world. I made a series of promotional videos for Jim Cooper and he was certainly one of the industry's gentlemen to deal with.
This video is a case history of one of Gulf's contracts to quarry and process rock, haul it from Mt Bundy Station in the Top End of the Northern Territory to the wharf at Darwin where it was loaded onto specialised ships and used to cover the gas pipelines coming from off-shore rigs in the Timor Sea.
