BOSS GT-1000 Dynamics: Clean, Light Overdrive to High Gain - Tender Surrender

The biggest test of any amp modelling system is whether it cleans up realistically using your guitar volume. To put this to the test on the new GT-1000, I created a high gain patch approximately in the style of Steve Vai's amazing song Tender Surrender, and ONLY used the guitar volume to get clean, slightly driven and high gain tones. Listen for yourself and tell me that the tones aren't full of of tasty feel!

I used my Music Man Starry Night Silhouette into the GT-1000 using the new BOSS WL-20 wireless system.

On the GT-1000, I used the X-HI GAIN amp with a DS-1 style distortion pushing the front end like Steve Vai runs his amps, with some delay and reverb.

No post-EQ has been applied to the guitar.
